How Renaissance Design and Construction Was Born!
In the design and construction world, Kimberly and Stephen are often described as the perfect partners—best friends, trusted collaborators, and a team whose strengths complement one another exceptionally well. Although their professional paths began very differently, those differences have become one of the greatest strengths of their partnership.
Kimberly
Kimberly’s construction experience was earned from the ground up—literally. Her hands-on background includes everything from swinging a hammer and laying tile to installing plumbing fixtures and performing electrical work. That practical knowledge, combined with her natural ability to connect with people, allows her to bring both expertise and a highly personal approach to every client relationship. Her design experience is equally diverse. Over the years, Kimberly has worked on everything from custom window treatments and furniture re-upholstery to custom cabinetry, space planning, and whole-home design. She has an instinctive understanding of how the many individual elements of a home come together to create a cohesive and beautiful environment.
And then there is Kimberly’s true superpower: she knows the difference between Pearl, Powder, Cotton, and Daisy.It ma y sound simple, but that attention to the smallest details is at the heart of what she does. Her combination of construction knowledge, design expertise, and an extraordinary eye for detail has helped transform houses into homes that are both beautiful and functional.
Most importantly, Kimberly genuinely loves the process. She believes that creating or transforming a home should be an enjoyable experience, and she strives to make every client feel heard, understood, and confident throughout the journey.
Stephen
Stephen has devoted much of his career to construction and project management. Throughout that career, he has managed countless projects and has been directly involved in the construction of several hundred production and custom homes. That experience has given Stephen an exceptional understanding of the construction process—from the earliest planning stages through the final details of a completed project. He brings a practical, analytical perspective to every project and has an innate ability to identify what a client truly needs, as well as what they may not need. His knowledge has been shaped not only by the projects he has successfully managed, but also by years of observing the construction industry and learning from both its successes and its mistakes. That perspective allows him to anticipate challenges, solve problems, and help guide clients through what can otherwise be an overwhelming process.
For Stephen, successful project management is about more than schedules, budgets, and construction. It is about understanding the client, communicating clearly, and making the entire experience as seamless as possible.
Where It All Came Together
More than a decade ago, Stephen and Kimberly’s professional paths crossed. The synergy was immediate. Their different backgrounds, personalities, and areas of expertise proved to be remarkably complementary. After working together at another remodeling company, they quickly recognized that they shared something even more important: a common vision for what the design and construction experience should be.
They believed clients deserved more than simply a contractor or a designer. They deserved a partner who could guide them through the entire process—from the initial vision and design decisions to construction and the finished home. They also believed that the foundation of a successful business should be built on something more lasting than a completed project: long-term relationships, exceptional service, thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to the client experience.
It became clear that the best way to bring that vision to life was to create their own company.
Renaissance Design & Construction
And so, Renaissance Design & Construction was born.
Kimberly and Stephen may have taken very different paths to get here, but those differences are precisely what make their partnership so effective. Kimberly brings an exceptional eye for design, detail, and the personal experience of the home. Stephen brings decades of construction knowledge, project management expertise, and a practical understanding of how to bring even the most ambitious visions to life.
Together, they have built more than a remodeling company. They have built a team of talented artisans and craftsmen who share their commitment to quality, integrity, and exceptional workmanship. Every home is different. Every client has a different vision. And every project brings its own unique challenges and opportunities.
